How can you turn the worst birthday ever into the biggest gift of your life?
Sophie finds out on her 42nd birthday that her husband is a frequent user of the Ashley Madison secret on-line dating site. Everyone thought she and Gabe had the perfect marriage until everyone found out Gabe had quite a robust side-hustle of hustling other women.
Humiliated, Sophie goes to Paris to see her teenage daughter who is studying abroad. Then she decides to stay. She travels alone to an artist colony and reinvigorates her love of sculpture and her ambitions.
Yes, this is probably a predictable book, but it's the perfect escape if you can't actually run off to an artist's colony outside of Paris. There are delectable french meals, and many interesting french men. (On that note, this one is probably R-rated, so not a great one for younger audiences.)
