We need people if we’re going to get serious about weight loss. Specifically, we need people who aren’t afraid to tell us that we do look big in those pants and maybe we shouldn’t eat an entire block of cheese even if it is grass-fed. Those people can be annoying. So, you really only need one.
We also need “people” who will keep their mouths shut and just go on a jog with you.
So. Meet Mack. He is my silent, but encouraging weight-loss weapon. Here’s the deal. He is always up for a run or walk, and he won’t have much of a preference either way. He always thinks I look just right, and he never lets his bad moods show.
He is easy.
And one thing I’ve found that works for me is to have a true accountability partner as well as a “feel-good” partner. I think it might be a bit manipulative to expect a human to make us feel good all the time, but dogs seem to do it naturally with no prompting. So, he is my softy.
He’s my go-to for running, walking, and an occasional cheese binge.
